Nijmegen, July 05, 2021: Nexperia, an expert in the field of basic semiconductor devices, announced that it has completed the acquisition of Newport Wafer Fab (NWF). This move can help the company achieve ambitious growth goals and investments, and further increase global production capacity. Through this acquisition, Nexperia has obtained 100% ownership of the Welsh semiconductor silicon chip production plant. Nexperia is a customer of foundry services provided by Newport Wafer Fab and became its second-largest shareholder by investing in Neptune 6 Limited in 2019.
